Smoking Cessation
Nicotine addiction has been said to be parallel to that of
cocaine and heroin and its psychological dependency even harder to overcome due
to the availability of tobacco and its highly addictive drug nicotine. About half
of all Americans who continue to smoke will die because of the habit. Each year,
about 438,000 people die in the US from tobacco use. Nearly 1 of every 5 deaths
is related to smoking. Cigarettes kill more Americans than alcohol, car accidents,
suicide, AIDS, homicide, and illegal drugs combined.
Over the past two decades, stop-smoking programs have come
and gone having little impact on the addiction. Most of these programs, including
nicorette gum and the "patch", have been drug (nicotine) based. Common
sense dictates that you should not use the addictive substance to overcome the
addiction. This approach is like having an alcoholic switch from scotch to vodka
to try to quit drinking. In addition, stop smoking programs have been dealing
with either the physical or psychological aspects of the addiction with very few
taking into consideration detoxification.
At Laser Therapeutics we believe the answer to combating tobacco addiction
is our multi-phasic approach involving the following components.
- Low level laser is currently
under investigation in
the U.S. to see if it
relieves the physical
need for the substance
without using a drug.
- Dealing with the psychological
aspect in such a way that
it ensures an addiction
free lifestyle.
- Laser therapy is thought
of as a modernistic form
of Acupuncture. The laser
light is helpful in controlling
addictions and enhancing
relaxation. When the laser
makes contact with the
body’s various energy
points, feeling of relaxation
and a state of well being
is experienced.
- A soft laser light is
used to stimulate specific
energy points in the ear,
face, legs feet and hands
relating to the addiction.
Treatment with laser helps
to promote the release
of endorphins in the body.
Endorphins are the body’s
natural chemicals which
help keep you calm and
relaxed making it overwhelmingly
easier to cope with the
addiction, withdrawal
symptoms, and cravings
that arise from giving
up nicotine.
- Our Certified Therapists
educate and council you
during your session. You
will be given the knowledge
on how to deal with your
new lifestyle. Other areas
being focused on during
your therapy are the withdrawal
symptoms, cravings, your
current habits, and nutritional
information which will
help the body become nicotine
free. At Laser Therapeutics
we schedule a second session
one week after your initial
treatment. If cravings
persist a booster is available
within the first 6 months
for no additional cost
if you have not smoked.
For clients concerned
about gaining weight after
kicking the habit, we
can also treat other pressure
points which help increase
your metabolism, thus
controlling weight gain.
The basis of our laser
therapy treatment is to
rapidly get you over the
addiction period and teach
you how to live a smoke-free
life. Each session takes
less than one hour.
The session is completely drug-free and non-invasive!
