Smoking Cessation Success Stories

My name is Roger. I am 47 years old, and had been smoking for 25 years off and on. I tried to quit smoking several times in the past. I usually quit “cold turkey”. Sometimes I was successful for a while, but it always came at a price. (Weight gain, grouchy moods, cravings, nervousness, etc.) Most of this was at the expense of the people around me. As I got older it became harder to even attempt to quit. I have no will power! So I continued to smoke until I started to feel the health effects on a daily basis. (My chest was tight, Coughing night and day, Short of breath from minimal physical activity) I was a slave to this habit. I didn’t like spending the money. I didn’t like the smell and taste. I didn’t like having to go outside and away from others to smoke. Sound familiar? Read on!

I heard about Laser Therapeutics at work. A co-worker and his wife went through the program and quit successfully. I witnessed first hand a person quitting smoking without all of the horror stories that usually accompany quitting smoking. Now this is for me! Where do I sign up! How much! So I called Laser Therapeutics to set up an appointment. Suzan was very reassuring and explained the whole program. So everything was set up. I was going to quit smoking for good! Then the fear set in. What am I going to do without cigarettes! How am I going to cope with quitting all over again? I couldn’t even cut down on my own. What if it doesn’t work and I spent all that money? Very real fears. Sound familiar? Read on!

My first appointment was 9/26/07. I smoked like normal that day, and perhaps more out of being nervous. I even stopped a block away to have one more before I arrived! I just bought a new truck and refused to smoke in it. I filled out the paperwork and Suzan explained in detail what I needed to do after the procedure. I found the procedure to be relaxing and not unpleasant at all. We then reviewed the “Things to do after” sheet. When I walked out of there, I felt great and just did not want to smoke!

My second appointment was 10/3/07. I feel great, I smell better, I don’t look much better, but I just do not want to smoke. That’s the only way I can explain it I JUST DON’T WANT TO SMOKE!

Before I finish I want to talk more about those very real fears. Do every single thing that is suggested on the Things to do after sheet. These suggestion overflow into each other and work together to form kind of a safety net to help you with any fears you may have. You will go from actively poisoning yourself to actively cleansing yourself. Poisoning to Pampering!

I'm a man of few words, but these words are worth saying. If I can quit smoking anyone can quit smoking. I smoked at least 2 packs of cigarettes a day including cigars. This went on for over 40 years. I smoked a cigarette every 6 to 10 minutes while I was driving an auto. It's been 2 months since my treatment and last cigarette and I can't believe it happened to me. It took one week for my morning ritual of coughing for a half hour to come to an end. I can go to bed and sleep without shortness of breath or wheezing. And look at all the money I'm saving.

I've been smoke free for 2 months and it's wonderful. I've quit smoking a dozen times in 50 years and always failed after a while. The cravings and short temperedness were awful. But, I made it this time with the laser treatment, it's painless and effortless. I'm not saying I don't want a cigarette once in a while, but this fleeting moment is so easy to get past. It has been 9 days since I quit smoking and I feel great! I had smoked for 16 years and had wanted to quit but nothing worked. I have been a smoker for most of my life. That is one tough habit to break. I have tried a dozen or so times over the years, but to no avail. I used the patch, I always wanted a cigarette and usually cheated, even smoked with the patch on (we all did this didn't we) any way, it did not work. The gum tastes bad, Hypnosis did not work. I loved to smoke. There is the little voice in the back of my head, this is not good for me. How about the constant sore throats, coughing, wheezing and my all time favorite, bad smokers breath. Not to mention the cost, bronchitis, sinus problems and everything I own smelling like smoke. Early in March a friend told me how he had quit smoking following a simple, painless laser treatment. He had no desire to smoke and that there had been no painful withdrawal symptoms.
